【摘要】:Nickelmetalhydride(Ni-MH)cells/batteriescanexhibithighself-dischargerates.Nitrateimpuritiesinthepositiveelectrodecanbereducedtoammoniaonthenegativeelectrode.Thiscausesrapidself-discharge.Technicalpublicationshavereportedalinkbetweentheseparatorammoniatrappingcapabilitiesandthecellschargeretention.Graftedpolyolefinseparatorscanabsorbortraptheseimpuritiesx2014;hence,reducingself-dischargerates.Thelevelofammoniatrappingfromthismethodgivesanindicationoftheefficiencyofaseparatortotrapthesecontaminates,thushelpingabatteryselfdischarge(chargeretention).Ahighervalueshouldallowacelltohavegreaterchargeretention.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementoftheabilityofamaterialtocaptureammonia.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedprimarilyfortestinggraftedpolyolefinmaterialsusedasabatteryseparator,althoughothermaterialscouldbetested.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
