【摘要】:Thefour-ballwear-testmethodcanbeusedtodeterminetherelativewear-preventingpropertiesofgreasesunderthetestconditionsandifthetestconditionsarechangedtherelativeratingsmaybedifferent.Nocorrelationhasbeenestablishedbetweenthefour-ballweartestandfieldservice.ThetestmethodcannotbeusedtodifferentiatebetweenExtremePressure(EP)andNon-ExtremePressure(Non-EP)Greases.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthewearpreventivecharacteristicsofgreasesinslidingsteel-on-steelapplications.Itisnotintendedtopredictwearcharacteristicswithmetalcombinationsotherthansteel-on-steelortoevaluatetheextremepressurecharacteristicsofthegrease.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandardexceptwherethetestapparatusorconsumablepartsareonlyavailableinotherunits.Insuchcases,thesewillberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
