【摘要】:Thequantitativedeterminationofantioxidantsinnewgreasesmeasurestheamountofthechemicalcompoundsthatwereaddedtothebaseoilasprotectionagainstgreaseoxidation.Forin-serviceoilgreases,thevoltammetrictestmethodmeasurestheamountoforiginal(individual)antioxidantsremainingaftergreaseoxidationhavereduceditsconcentration.Beforemakingfinaljudgmentontheremainingusefullifeofthein-servicegrease,whichmightresultinthereplacementofthegreasereservoir,itisadvisedtoperformadditionalanalyticaltechniques,suchasTestMethodD942andD5483,whichmaybeusedtomeasuretheremainingoxidativelifeoftheusedgrease.4.1.1Thistestmethodisapplicabletomineraloil-basedandsyntheticoil-basedgreases,basedonalltypeofappliedthickeners.Thistestmethodisapplicabletogreasescontainingatleastonetypeofantioxidant.Thepresenceofothertypesofadditiveslikecorrosioninhibitorsormetaldeactivatorswillnotinterferewiththistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthevoltammetricdeterminationofantioxidantsinneworin-servicelubricatinggreasesinconcentrationsfrom0.0075weightpercentuptoconcentrationsfoundinnewgreasesbymeasuringtheamountofcurrentflowataspecifiedvoltageintheproducedvoltammogram.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtomonitortheantioxidantcontentinlubricatinggreases;itcannotbeappliedforlubricatinggreasesthatdonotcontainantioxidants.1.3Thistestmethodisdesignedtoallowtheusertomonitortheantioxidantdepletionrateofin-servicegreasesthroughitslifecycleaspartofconditionmonitoringprograms.Thistestmethodisperformedinordertocollectandtrendearlysignsofdeterioratinglubricantgrease,anditmaybeusedasaguideforthedirectionofanyrequiredmaintenanceactivities.Thiswillensureasafe,reliable,andcost-effectiveoperationofthemonitoredplantequipment.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
